Retiring Santa Barbara School Districts Superintendent, Dr. Brian Sarvis has been committed to public education for 36 years. He joined the Santa Barbara School Districts in 2001 and has served as Superintendent since 2004, overseeing all operations, educational programs, and strategic plans for 21 elementary and secondary schools. His work touches the lives of 16,000 students each year, preschool through grade 12, and 2500 district employees.
The past seven years have been trying ones, to say the least, with unprecedented budget cuts along with the traditional challenges of operating a school district. Dr. Sarvis has shown grace under fire and an unwavering example of leadership. Dedicated to the highest success of every student, Dr. Sarvis has partnered with foundations, teachers, parents and businesses to close the achievement gap, increase test scores, oversee major school site construction projects, focus on nutritional lunch choices, and keep enrichment programs alive in the Santa Barbara School Districts. - The Daily Edhat Newsletter
