Showers and Parties

Eli- "Mom, you're going to put the baby in the shower?"

Me- "A baby shower is a party for someone who has a baby in their tummy. We give them presents for their baby, play silly games, and eat food. We don't put a baby in the shower."

Eli- "Ohhhhhh, o.k. Darla has a baby in her tummy and she's going to take a shower?"

I love putting myself in Eli's mind to think about life the way a 3 1/2 year old does. So innocent and sweet! We had so much fun showering Darla on Saturday for her very first baby shower. She is so beautiful and excited for her new little bundle to arrive. We are all very anxious to know whether it is a boy or a girl. We'll find out in September :)

The Hoffman Girlies
On Sunday we went to Chase's 3rd birthday party (in the middle). Chase is Derrick's girlfriend's son. He is an absolute sweetie and so is his momma.

Dawnna's cupcakes were delicious and completely made from scratch. The frosting was made with real raspberries and white chocolate or something like that. Eli licked the frosting once and realized the cupcakes didn't come from a box and the frosting wasn't out of a tub and handed it to me. Isn't that funny?

"La La La Elmo's World!" This is what Thad sings over and over all day long.

Where a Kid Can be a Kid!

Eli got 10 stickers on his "Responsibility Chart" for sitting at the table for meals, sleeping in his own bed all night, and helping to clean his toy room! So, as promised, we went to Chuck E. Cheese today. We met our good friends Emily, Audrey and Matthew there and had a wonderful celebration. How incredibly cute is this picture of Eli and Emily. They did it all by themselves :)
